SKY Warranty Scheme Explained

Unfortunately Sky Digital does go wrong from time to time. The boxes can and do overheat. The cost to replace this box is up to £249. There are problems with the LNB on the dish, which are usually due to weather conditions. To replace a LNB would normally cost £130. (SKY charge £65 +VAT just to knock at the door).

You may have recently seen on television the BBC Watchdog programme. Where customers who have had SKY installed at their home, who have had numerous problems with their HD/SKY+ box and have had too wait up to two weeks to have their problems resolved, and in some cases had up to seven replacement boxes.

If you decide to take out our *5 Year Warranty, we will guarantee a replacement receiver or LNB where necessary, and callout within 24 hours, all FREE of charge for the next five years.

The cost of our extended Five Year Warranty is not expensive.

• SKY + HD Customers the cost of the warranty is only 7 monthly payments of £39.99 (Equivalent to 99p per week) then you’re covered for 5 years

Unlike Sky we don’t have call centres; we are a local firm offering great service. You can call us directly and any problem is dealt with on a one to one basis. We only use our own fitters, no sub contractors and we always try and resolve any problem on the first visit.

As you can appreciate, as electrical equipment gets older there is more chance that problems will arise and to rectify the fault can be very expensive. Sky charge a £65 call out and anything they provide is reconditioned and comes with a 3 months warranty.

Common faults

• My Sky remote won’t operate the volume on my TV - The chances are your remote wasn’t tuned in to operate your TV during the initial installation, its a fairly easy process to tune in your remote by following these instructions.
• My Sky remote used to operate the volume on my TV but now it doesn’t – Firstly have you replaced the batteries in your remote recently? If so then the remote may have reset to the factory default setting, follow these instructions. If you haven’t replaced the batteries, try reprogramming the remote following these instructions.
• My Sky picture keeps freezing – This could be either a fault with your box or the LNB(dish element). For either of these you will need a qualified service engineer to attend to the fault.
